Billy Joel + The 1975 = Hues

Billy Joel and The 1975 are two of Hues’ favourite artists. Billy Joel represents everything Hues loves about older styles of music. He is deeply inspired by his incredible structures, harmonic choices, and the piano being a main character in the music. The 1975 represent everything he loves about modern producton. From the ’75 he took their expansive production, glossy guitar licks, and undeniable groove. He infuses this with his sense of orchestral grandeur.

Lyrics and aesthetics are inspired by the masterpieces of gothic fiction such as Frankenstein, Dracula, The Picture of Dorian Gray and the private journals of 19th century composers.
